Thanksgiving Weekend!

We headed south to Medford for Thanksgiving again this year.
We didn't go down till Thanksgiving morning {versus Wednesday night}. At first I wasn't sure about not waking up Thanksgiving morning in Medford, there was just something about not being able to watch the Macy's Day Parade and scope out the Black Friday ads in my pjs like I have done so many years in a row. But it was so nice to not have to fight traffic/drive in the dark and rain that made it totally worth it {and it was even sunny for part of the drive!}.
Blake was so excited when he figured out Raven was going be join us for the car ride.
We heard "Re-re, Re-re, Re-re" over and over...

 Once we got to Medford our first stop was over to my parents house to have some snacks for lunch.
 Blake loved sitting at the bar with the Ali and Kayla.

Such a big boy!
The Stevensons were even able to join us via FaceTime.
After snacks we headed to the Bartlett's for a yummy traditional Thanksgiving feast.

Blake had lots of fun playing with Lizzy!
Helpin Grandpa Don on the computer.
Tables make the best forts!
That Uncle Dave, he's so funny.

Friday morning my mom, friend Brie and I hit the mall bright and early! This has been a tradition for the last several years. I couldn't believe how many stores were opening at midnight or earlier! We opted to get some sleep and then go shopping. It was great for us because there weren't nearly the lines there use to be! And we still got the same great deals that the people who were up all night got! Friday night we had dinner at one of our favorite pizza places in Medford, Kaleidoscope. {if you are ever in Medford you must try it... the have the best salads!} Santa happened to be making the rounds there and stopped at our table and boy was Blake terrified of him! Santa came and sat by us and tried talking to Blake but he did not want to have anything to do with him.
This was the closest he would get.
I don't think he'll be sitting on Santa's lap this year!
But he did enjoy checking out Santa in Grandpa and Nana's front yard!

There were lots of "wow, wow!" when we first pulled up to their house.

Saturday we watched the Civil War football game. The Beavers lost but that's what we expected. We Beaver Believers are hoping for a better season next year!

It was a fun and busy weekend!
Now I'm off to take my little one to the doctor, I'm afraid all the fun we had this weekend brought on a cold with yet another ear infection.
Hope you had a fun filled Thanksgiving!

Just have to document this day.....

BEAVERS WIN!!!!

and

Ducks LOSE!!!!

The Beavs beat Washington and Oregon lost to USC.
I don't remember the last time this has happened.
 And I don't think it will happen again anytime soon, so I felt the need to remember this day.
Next week is the big Civil War game. Anything can happen.
But for now here's a pic of the cutest Beaver fan I know.

GO BEAVS!!!!

Things from this week.

Wow it was a busy week! And I actually managed to document what we did with pictures! {They were taken on my phone so the quality isn't great but at least there is a picture to remember it by.}
{Kendra, Mary and Cameron, Jamie and Quinn, Me and Blake}
 Wednesday after work Blake and I met two new babies! My friend Jamie welcomed their little girl Quinn on October 1st and my friend Mary welcomed their little boy Cameron on November 11th!
Its so much fun meeting new babies!

 On Thursday we meet Daddy for a Starbucks date.

Starbucks had their holiday drinks by one get one free {and still does 2-5pm till Sunday!}. There is no way we could pass that up! While standing in line Blake kept pointing at the display case making his noise that he makes when he wants something. {he's just recently started this and it's really starting to drive me crazy...} So what do I do give in and get him a cake pop thing. {secretly I just wanted a bite ha!} He loved devoured it. {but who wouldn't it was chocolate and peppermint... yum} Although I think he mostly just like the fact that it was on a stick. Because when he realized he had ate it off the stick and a huge bite was in his mouth and not on the stick anymore he started throwing a fit. {another thing that is getting. old. quickly. that I'm afraid is just the beginning of} Maybe I'll try putting green beans and carrots on sticks! Then maybe he'll eat them!

After our coffee date with daddy {which Blake is now saying pretty well! daddy that is.} we went to meet this little guy...
Isn't he absolutely adorable?
{No. He is not ours. Thank goodness. Maybe someday. But not today.}
His name is Lightning and he belongs to Michael {the boy I watch}.
He is a nine-week-old Golden Retriever.

I tried to get a picture of Michael, Blake and Lightning, but this...
 is pretty much what Lightning would do unless I was holding him.
So I had Michael take a picture of Blake and I with Lightning.
 It will be so fun to watch him grow!

Today {Friday} we had a nice day at home. {finally a day off!}
And tonight, before Blake went to bed, he actually cuddled with me while watching the Backyardigans. {This has never happened before}

This weekend is the last home football game for the season. Sadly, I'm not going. It will be too cold and wet for Blake. {but hey, we made it to all the other home games!} But we will be joining the tailgate festivities before hand. Breakfast Burritos are on the menu {for the third time this season because they are just so good} and we can't pass those up!
Hope you have a fun weekend!

We're in trouble...

Blake has started saying the "n word". He hasn't quite figured out what it means yet but I'm afraid that won't take long.

I would have to admit that [right now] he's pretty darn cute when he says it...

[I'm not sure why I'm encouraging the use of this word. I'll be regretting it soon I'm sure]

A Fall Saturday

Many most all of our Saturdays in the fall are spent tailgating followed by watching the OSU Beavers play football. (sadly we haven't witnessed many wins this season)
Grandpa and Blake ready for some football!

Today was the first game this fall that has been cold and rainy. I'd say we were pretty lucky with the weather this year considering we only have one more home game left. It was Blake's first rainy game. He did pretty well considering the freezing cold and drizzley rain. He made it through the fist half and even took an hour nap!
 The poor kid had so many layers on he could hardly walk!

After half time my mom, Blake and I headed to the MU to warm up and dry off.
If you watched the game you can recall the second half... not pretty.
First half not bad. We were only playing the Stanford who was ranked #4 in the nation. The first half we gave them a game. Second half, like I said, not pretty.
Glad I left after the first half. I was happy when I left. I said to Russ after the game "we did really good against the #4 team"... his response... "you weren't there for the second half"... good point.
There's always next year... right?

Back to tailgating... I think my dad is trying to demonstrate that its so cold you can see his breath.
My mom and dad. Aren't they cute?
[this was the first time we have ever had to make a tarp barricade to stay warm!]
 Not very happy with the Beavs.
Now time for a nap.
I would have to say despite the bad season, I love spending our fall Saturdays tailgating and watching the Beavers play! Maybe next week we'll win!

One Cute Cow

Ok real cows aren't cute.
But I'd have to say this was one pretty cute cow...

This little cow had quite the fun filled Halloween afternoon.
We started with going to downtown Corvallis for some trick-or-treating.
First stop was daddy's office.

Then we met up with Marilyn and Michael.
[This was the 4th year I have been trick-or-treating downtown with them. I'd say it's become a tradition!]

It's fun to see all the interesting costumes people wear.
I am always amazed how creative people can be.
One kid was a robot and his costume lit up. Another girl looked like she was laying in bed. She had this cardboard box somehow attached to her back and then there was like a pillow under her head and a blanket on her. It was strange, and I'm not sure how she fit through doorways.
As for now I like to keep it simple for Blake [and me].
I wish I would have got some pictures of these interesting/strange costumes.

After downtown we headed to the Harvest Carnival our church puts on each year.
While we waited for daddy to get there I took advantage of the fall-ish scenery and took a few pics of my cow.

This was our first time going to the Harvest Carnival. It was fun! There were all kinds of games, a petting zoo, horse rides, bounce houses and food! And the best part... it was all FREE!
I'm sure there are several Christians who would disagree with this Harvest Carnival and think as Christians we shouldn't be "celebrating" Halloween, but I personally think its a great opportunity for the church to reach out to our community and show them the love of Christ.
Blake is still a little young side to participate in the fun activities but I look forward to the years to come as he gets older.
 Checking out the goat at the petting zoo
He wasn't so sure about the big cow.
 He thought the sheep were better [maybe he'll be a sheep next year]
 Going to check out the ponies!
Our little family.
 [I forgot to mention that our little cow had the "moo" down until we put him in he costume and then it was like he instantly forgot how to moo. Go figure.]
