We're PREGNANT!!!

On September 30th I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive!
I had my first Dr. appointment on Tuesday Oct. 27th and everything looks good! As Russell put it-- the baby has all the important parts; 1 head, 1 spine, 2 arms, 2 legs and a strong heart beat! It was amazing to see the baby and hear the heart beat. The picture just doesn't do the experience justice! Praise God for a healthy baby!
The doctor said I am about 8 weeks along and the due date is June 7th! As many of you know we have been trying for awhile and have had one miscarriage very early on and after this appointment we couldn't be more excited! I have been feeling ok. A little nauseous and really tired. We are very excited to be starting a family! We are hoping and praying for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby!

Disneyland for Russell's Birthday!

For Russell's 26th Birthday we hit the road and headed to Disneyland! This year you can get into Disneyland for FREE on you birthday.

We decided to take advantage of this! Our friends Jeremy and Kira joined us for the road trip. We had a great time! It was fun to experience Disneyland as adults. Russell was adamant eat every meal in Disneyland (something neither of us did as kids).

The drive wasn't too bad despite the air conditioning stopped working on the first leg of the trip and it was 90+ once we hit the LA area. We spent one day (16+ hours) in Disneyland. We rode Thunder Mt Railroad 4 times, Splash Mt 2 time, Space Mt 1 time, Indiana Jones 2 times, Tea Cups 1, Matterhorn 1, Jungle Cruise 2 (and some other rides) saw the parade, the fireworks show and fantasmic. We were all exhausted to say the least at 12:30am when we left the park and I had huge blisters on my toes from walking all day! But it was a blast!

The next day headed to the San Francisco area to visit the Gowins family (Jamie and Jonathan). We then spent the next day in the SF area. We had a great time going to Fisherman's Wharf and touring Alcatraz.

So all in all it was about 3 days of driving for 2 days of fun. It was definitely worth it, but next time I think we will fly!

1st entry

Hi everyone! I am not much of a writer but this blogging seems like the thing to do these days so I thought I would give it a try!

We have been back in Corvallis for almost 2 years now, which is hard for me to believe! If you don't count the 6 months we lived in Portland we could say we have been in Corvallis 7 years! Russ has been working for River Design Group. It is a small company that has offices in White Fish, Montana and Corvallis. The main office is in MT and has about 14 employees and the Corvallis office only has 4. His work includes mostly engineering and surveying. Much of his work focuses on river restoration. He enjoys the work, having days working in the office and days out in the field. The company just won a bid on a huge project down in Medford, they will be removing the Gold Ray Dam. This means good, steady work for at least the next year and lots of trips to Medford (hopefully I will be able to join him for some!)

As for me, I quit my job at OSU Beaver Beginnings this September. I am now working at Noah's Ark Preschool and Daycare. I work with the infant and toddlers. It is great to be in a Christian environment!
