Semi-Sunny Saturday

A semi-sunny saturday is the perfect day for the pumpkin patch! After Blake's nap on Saturday we headed out to Airlie Hills Farm to check out the all the fun festive fall things. I'll let the pictures do the talking :)
We started off with the Hay Ride! I was under the impression that the hay ride would take us to the pumpkin patch. It seems like most pumpkin patches I've been to the last few years require a hay ride to get to the pumpkin patch. So I was a bit surprised when the tractor pulled us right back around to where we started. And then I realized the pumpkin patch was just a short walking distance to the right. Silly me. [Hahaha. Not sure why I just shared that with you.] But Blake wasn't too fond of the hay ride so I was a little relieved we didn't have to get back on it!
After the hay ride we headed to the dark hay maze. Not so sure what we were thinking taking babies into a dark hay maze. Thankfully we had iPhones with flash lights to help us find our way out.
Blake wasn't so fond of the dark maze either.
Next we headed to the corn maze... in the day light!

Corn mazes make for a good family photo op!

We gave up on the maze and headed over to the big slide!
Beautiful view from atop the huge hay pyramid

 Going down the slide!
Now off to find a pumpkin!
Avery wasn't so sure about the wheelbarrow ride

As we were picking out our pumpkins this man came up to us and asked if he could take a few pictures of Blake. At first I hesitated [you never know these days] and then he went on to explain that he was with the newspaper for Polk County called the Itemizer-Observer taking pictures at the local pumpkin patch to print in the paper. I said sure and he snapped a few pics and said Blake would be in the paper on Wednesday! He also took our email so I'm hoping he remembers to email the pics to us.

He [the newspaper guy] also said "he's too cute not to print". I know I'm partial but I'd have to agree. I mean look at that cute little behind!

 So excited!
And even more excited about the baby calf!

This year was so much different at the pumpkin patch then last year, Blake could actually do things! And I'm sure next year will be even more fun... I'm seeing a family tradition in the making.

Also wanted to share... I made these pumpkin cream cheese muffins yesterday. They are amazing. You must try them.
