29

I turned 29 today.
When I was sixteen, twenty-nine sounded sooo old.
Now sixteen sounds so young! It's funny how that happens, hahah.
It's the last year of my 20s, wow!
It's going to be a good year!
39 weeks pregnant with Lily... hoping she comes any day!!

Bartlett Family Reunion

Back in July we had a family reunion with Russell's Dad's side of the family. Russell's Grandparents who live in Arizona were up visiting and his cousins who were living in Oklahoma had just moved back so it was the perfect opportunity for us all to get together. And it was the first time in several years since we had all been together!
Here are some pictures...

They also threw a surprised shower for Baby Lily!
I was quite surprised when Kacie walked out the door holding balloons, a cake and presents!
It was fun to be able to share some of the present opening with Russ and Blake!

It was so great to have all of us together and Blake loved playing with his 2nd cousins!

38 weeks!

I can't believe I'm already 38 weeks. Lily could be here any day... crazy!
We have been back from vacation for a couple weeks now and I pretty much have everything checked off the "before Lily arrives" to-do-list which is a great feeling!
Now I'm hoping to get back into sharing our life via the blog. Which will mean more posts to come in the near future... unless Lily decides to arrive.
So for now here's a "belly pic" and a few notes I wanted to remember.
39 weeks with Blake on the left 38 weeks with Lily on the right
Some 38 week notes:
-This pregnancy has been a bit different then the first. Lets just say chasing after a toddler doesn't allow for much resting. Thankfully I've been healthy enough to do so!
-Lily is a mover! She moves way more then I remember Blake moving.
-Organizing one {small} closet for a boy and a girl was a bit challenging. But the task is done! And sorry to say Blake, your sister has taken over.
-I think I've been having more braxton hicks contractions then last time.
-I've had heart burn just as bad or worse then with Blake... maybe she'll have lots of hair.
-My weight gain has been less this time around, maybe it has to do with that toddler I'm chasing around.
-I've been able to wear my wedding ring the whole time!
-Being pregnant durring the summer hasn't been as miserable as I thought it would be. But has made me thankful for our mild summers in the Pacific Northwest.
-When we found out we were having a girl we had a name picked out. As time went by that name just wasn't settling with me right. So we decided to change it. I'm not even sure how we came up with Lily but I love it and now can't imagine her with any other name.
-I can't wait for Blake to meet his little sister. I think he's going to be one awesome big brother!

Summer Happenings

I had plans of blogging more as summer came and I wasn't working as much. But (as I'm sure you can tell) that hasn't happened. So I thought I would do one big post of what our summer has looked like so far...
I've been watching Michael 1-2 days a week.
We went to the bounce house on a grey/rainy day back in June. Blake was unsure of the big bouncy things at first but soon figured out how fun they are and then didn't want to leave.
It finally warmed up and we were able to break out the whale (or wheele as Blake calls it) sprinkler and Michael came to our house for a change!
Blake decided to start calling his Grandma Lori, Papa Lori. He refuses to say Grandma.
He's spent sometime practicing his dance moves.
We ate some yummy food and stayed up way to late watching fireworks on the 4th of July.
We went over to Bend with our friends the Hammagrens like we did last summer.
The dads reading some night time stories.
Date night in Bend! (30 weeks pregnant)
Playing at a park before we headed home from another wonderful weekend in Bend.
 Blake being goofy!
Playing at the splash park in Downtown Corvallis.
First lesson in shaving.
 Toddler art.
Blueberry picking! Blake loves blueberries (or ba-berries as he calls them). I think he would live on blueberries if I let him. That day we picked 10lbs. We froze a gallon size bag and then ate the rest in a week- that's how much he likes them. He probably ate a pound while we were picking. Good thing we live in a good place to pick them!
We checked out the Linn County Fair. Blake was afraid of the cows. He didn't even want to stop to so I could take a picture, that's why he's pointing out the door in the picture above. It was a nice little fair. We even had some curly fries and an elephant ear- a must at the fair!
I found a nice little resting place for my coffee.
We went to the splash park again!
My best friend threw me a sweet shower for little Lily and had the yummiest cake (of course from Market of Choice).
I had my last day at Noah's (last Friday). Such a bittersweet. I will miss my coworkers and the kids so much, but looking forward to being a stay-at-home-mom again.
Someone figured out how to climb onto his changing table. And I think he could spend hours playing with his wipes... who needs toys!?
We said good-bye to some sweet friends who moved to Arkansas. We have know the Jensens since college and were in the same House Church as them this last year. This is Blake with Teddy their youngest boy who is around Blake's age. Blake loved Teddy and talked about him frequently. We will miss them!
This brings us to yesterday. We went blueberry picking (yes again) with Luke and Becca! I think he's getting more the hang of picking them and putting them in his bucket and not just eating them. But as we were walking up to pay he stopped and shoveled the 5 or so he had in his bucket into his mouth... I think he didn't realize he could take them with us! Maybe next time he'll understand.

At 4:15pm today I become a stay-at-home-mom, until further notice! Tomorrow we head to Medford for the weekend. We have our 10 year high school reunion and my mom and sister are throwing me a baby shower. Then from there we head over to Black Butte for a week! Then once we get home it'll almost be time for Lily to be born!
Wow! Where did the summer go?!
Hope you are enjoying yours!

Camping!

About a month ago we met my parents at Bullards Beach State Park on the Southern Oregon Coast. The days leading up to going camping I was constantly checking the weather. It was end of June so one would think the weather would be nice no problem... well not so much in Oregon. The forecast was calling for a wet cold rainy weekend {across pretty much the WHOLE state}. We debated back and forth wether to just tough it out and go, or if it was really worth it to tent camp in the rain {with a two-year-old and being 27 weeks pregnant}. My parents have a trailer and had made reservations so they were going rain or shine.

Friday rolled around and we woke up to grey cloudy skies at home. We made the decision to just go for it. {yes, I'm sure we are crazy} We figured if Friday night was miserable we'd come home Saturday. On our way there it was ugly. It poured and poured some more on us. As we got closer to the campground {and farther away from our dry, warm comfy beds} I kept thinking, "what are we thinking?!" We arrived to the camp ground and of course it was raining. My dad and Russ set up our tent underneath a canopy {which was a lifesaver}. We hung out in the dry trailer that night. When we went to bed I prayed and prayed that we'd sleep through the night and wake up dry. And thankfully we did! Saturday morning we were up by 5:30am and it wasn't because we were soaking wet. The rain had stopped during the night and didn't return the rest of the weekend. We ended up have a great time with some pretty blue skies as well.

Our little humble abode for the weekend. The lines that look like streaks on the picture is actually the rain pouring off of the canopy from the trailer.
Friday night trike ride in the rain.
 Saturday we spent the afternoon exploring Old Town Bandon {notice the blue skies!!?}

If you ever go to Bandon you must go to Crandberry Sweets & More. They have samples of almost every type of candy they sell. {It's kind of like Costco in way of samples, but candy}
Our camping site.
 Playing on the beach!

 Helping dad build a sandcastle.

 Quick picture with the sandcastle.
 Destroying the sandcastle.
 Conquering the sandcastle.
 Our little family.
 Papa Mike and Papa Lori {yes, he calls his Grandma, Papa... He will not say Grandma}
Here I am at 27 weeks!
Sitting by the campfire.
And he's out.
The second night I opted to sleep in the trailer. I thought it would be more comfortable for all of us. Well, Blake moves a lot in his sleep and kept falling off the side of the air mattress which woke both him and Russ up so half way through the night Russ brought Blake to me in the trailer and he slept much better next to me where he couldn't roll off. And slept soundly till about 7am {much better then the 5:30 wake up time the morning before :)}
Sunday morning we spent more time on the beach and then packed up to head home.
 It was another beautiful morning!
Papa and Blake found a fort!
 Inside the fort.
 Running on the beach.

All of us!
I'm looking forward to many more camping trips as Blake gets older {and baby girl too}!
